About The Position

This position participates in UNMC key shop responsibilities, including key inventory, cutting keys by code, building key cores, and servicing lock and door hardware. The Locksmith assists the Lead Locksmith with various duties and learns all aspects of the position so they can fill in for the Lead when needed. The position is intended as a stepping stone to the Lead position.

As campus facilities grow and are built or remodeled, they are transitioning from the Schlage system used exclusively at Nebraska Medicine to the Stanley Best/Dorma Kaba keying system. The Locksmith works closely with patient care departments and project management to ensure access and security needs are met. Some knowledge of the campus layout is helpful.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience.
• Ability to work closely with patient care departments and project management to address access and security needs.
