About The Position

Under general supervision, the Locksmith installs, repairs, and maintains locks, keys, key systems, card systems, and associated hardware in campus architectural and structural elements and furnishings. The role is in Facilities Management. The targeted pay rate is up to $24.18 per hour, based on experience. The position is benefits eligible and follows a Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. schedule. On-call hours may be required; travel is not required. Hiring is contingent upon a background check and a driver’s license check.

Requirements

• Vocational or technical school training in Locksmithing, or 18 months of related experience in lieu of that training.
• 12 months of experience in commercial and/or residential Locksmithing.
• A valid Oklahoma Driver’s License to drive University vehicles, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
• Hiring is contingent upon a background check and a driver’s license check.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair locks, locking mechanisms, and security devices.
• Install, maintain, and repair door hardware, weather stripping, kick plates, and pneumatic closing fixtures.
• Disassemble locks and locking mechanisms to repair or replace worn tumblers and springs.
• Cut new or duplicate keys and stamp them with identification numbers or letters.
• Issue keys and maintain records of keys issued and returned.
• Complete and maintain reports of work performed, parts replaced, and time spent.
• Perform duties as needed to support site operations, including assisting other skilled trades.
