About The Position

The Lock Assembler position is responsible for assembling locks according to FIFO guidelines and understanding order specifications. This role involves both external and internal assembly processes, including placing components, greasing, adding washers, and testing the mechanism for proper function. Associates in this role will be trained and may be moved between various departments, jobs, and roles to support Emtek's business model and meet customer lead times. Maintaining a clean workstation is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

Ability to complete 10 pairs per hour (Day 0-27).
Ability to complete 15 pairs per hour (Day 27-55).
Ability to complete 22 pairs per hour (Day 55-85).
Meet productivity goals of 22 pairs an hour.
Meet quality goals.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced, intense environment.
Ability to work independently.
Must demonstrate a good work ethic.

Responsibilities

Follow FIFO guidelines when proceeding to the next order.
Read and understand order specifications to start the assembly process.
Perform external assembly, including placing knobs/levers, attaching washers, greasing, and adding shims, plates, and springs as needed.
Test the handle to ensure proper mechanism function, verifying tightness.
Add springs/spindles to the handle and make adjustments.
Assemble the inside component of the lock.
Complete Hour by Hour sheets, documenting dates, times, and discrepancies.
Maintain a clean workstation throughout the shift.
Refill individual and shared bins.
Work in various departments/jobs/roles as needed to support business demands.
