About The Position

Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. is seeking a Lock Assembler to join their team. This role involves assembling locks according to specific guidelines and maintaining a clean workstation. Associates may be moved within various departments/jobs/roles to meet business needs and ensure customer lead times are met. Requirements

  • Must be able to complete 10 pairs per hour (Day 0-27).
  • Must be able to complete 15 pairs per hour (Day 27-55).
  • Must be able to complete 22 pairs per hour (Day 55-85).
  • Meet productivity goals (22 pairs an hour).
  • Meet quality goals.
  • Must be willing to work in a fast-paced, intense environment.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Work varied hours as required.
  • Must demonstrate a good work ethic.
  • Frequently required to walk or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Follow FIFO guidelines when proceeding to the next order.
  • Read and understand the order correctly to start the assembly process.
  • Start with the external assembly process: Place Knob/lever on worktable, attach plastic washers, add grease, place shims, plates, and springs as requested.
  • Test handle to ensure proper mechanism function, verifying installation is not too tight nor too loose.
  • Add springs/spindles to the handle and make adjustments as needed.
  • Proceed with assembling the inside component.
  • Complete Hour by Hour sheet, including dates, times, and discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean workstation throughout the entire shift.
  • Keep only necessary product at the workstation.
  • Refill individual and shared bins.
