About The Position

Safety-Kleen, a subsidiary of Clean Harbors, is seeking a Local Sales Route Driver in Kent, Ohio. The driver will train to operate a Class B box truck to provide onsite service for parts washer machines, pick up containerized hazardous waste, and sell products and services along a defined route. Safety-Kleen will pay for the driver to obtain a CDL. The role may involve visiting 10–12 customer sites per day and serving automotive repair, fleet, and manufacturing businesses.

Requirements

Class B CDL.
Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsements within 90 days of employment.
Basic computer and math skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to perform physical functions required by the job.
Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, as applicable to the position.
Meet facial-hair standards under OSHA’s Respiratory Protection standard, 29 CFR 1910.134, if the position requires respirator use.

Nice To Haves

Commercial route driving experience (Class C or Non-CDL).
Strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Prioritize health and safety by complying with safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting safely.
Visit approximately 10–12 customer sites per day.
Switch out 15- and 30-gallon drums of solutions.
Service parts washer machines and clean sediment from sinks.
Upsell at customer locations and generate new leads in the field.
Complete scheduled services, deliveries, and pickups on time.
Follow local, state/provincial, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
Operate vehicles safely in accordance with U.S. DOT and applicable local, state/provincial, and federal requirements.
Follow company environmental health and safety operating guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
