Job Summary Orders, receives, stores, transfers, and issues materials, merchandise, equipment and supplies required for field operations. Coordinates material requirements for district and local projects. Performs necessary clerical, physical and computer related tasks for these functions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Obtain and maintain OSHA required fork lift certification
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License prior to the end of trial period
  • This position is covered by the Department of Transportation regulations on drug/alcohol testing (CFR 49, Parts 40 and 382), and is subject to drug/alcohol testing according to said regulations.
  • Mathematics and business related courses at high school level
  • Thorough knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Interest in and aptitude for stores and clerical work.
  • Good communicative skills.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with materials and supplies required in a field operation.
  • Ability to perform computer related tasks to order, receive and process material requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years' experience in stores or stores accounting work

Responsibilities

  • Receives, distributes, stores and issues materials, merchandise, equipment and supplies required for field operations at designated locations.
  • Maintains storeroom and storage areas in a secure and orderly manner.
  • Periodically reviews stocks of materials and makes recommendations for stocking levels.
  • Conducts annual or special inventories as required and records Inventory variances.
  • Coordinates material requirements with Material Planning, Area Stores, Engineering and Operations.
  • Orders materials using STORMS, PeopleSoft, EZ-Buy or other software applications.
  • Issues local orders, makes local purchases and prepares payment summaries as required using company processes such as: EZ-Buy, corporate credit card or PeopleSoft applications.
  • Prepares blanket order releases or requisitions for materials, supplies and services.
  • Prepares adjustments and claims as required.
  • Maintains files and follow-up systems for these functions.
  • Safely operates material handling equipment in accordance with industry requirements.
  • Arranges for additional equipment and assistance when required.
  • Maintains OSHA required fork lift certification.
  • Completes receiving, transfer, issuing and return documents and enters necessary data into the material software systems such as PeopleSoft, EZ-Buy or Alliant Energy accepted applications.
  • Makes arrangements for servicing of company vehicles as directed.
  • Performs all work according to established company procedures.
  • Performs other duties which are similar, related or incidental to this position.
