The Chesapeake Health Department seeks an experienced Local Health Emergency Coordinator. This position writes, revises, updates, maintains, and exercises the district's All Hazards Emergency Response Plan, with particular emphasis on bioterrorism response, communicable disease, and other public health emergencies. In addition, this position writes, maintains and exercises the district Continuity Plan and Communication Plan, ensuring district staff are equipped and trained to use tactical communication devices. The planner works closely with CHD management, City of Chesapeake Emergency Management, multiple government and community agencies and represents the district activities/interests with regional state Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response partners. The Planner reports to the District Director.
