About The Position

Johnsonville is hiring a local driver to transport its products safely and provide exceptional customer service as a company representative. Local work includes pickups, deliveries, and redeliveries, with some intrastate activity within a maximum 250-mile radius of the Johnsonville campus. Drivers average 50 hours per week and drive 2021-or-newer tractors with late-model Great Dane refrigerated trailers. The role requires availability between 12:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime as business demands.

Requirements

• Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
• Acceptable driving record that meets company and DOT requirements.
• At least 21 years of age.
• 100,000 miles of driving experience or completion of a certified truck driving school.
• Basic math and map-reading skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to pass a post-offer pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.
• Eligibility to work in the country where the job is located without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of recent tractor-trailer experience preferred.
• Experience in the refrigerated food industry preferred.
• Computer skills desirable.

Responsibilities

• Handle local pickups, deliveries, and redeliveries, including some intrastate activity within a maximum 250-mile radius of the Johnsonville campus.
• Maintain a safety-first mindset and comply with state and federal laws and regulations, including FMCSA requirements.
• Provide customer service and represent Johnsonville with a clean, professional image.
• Drive 2021-or-newer tractors and late-model Great Dane refrigerated trailers.
• Complete thorough vehicle safety inspections.
• Complete E-DVIR reports for mechanical conditions requiring repair.
• Maintain scheduled appointments, obtain required signatures on bills of lading, and communicate delays to dispatch.
• Execute assigned duties with attention to detail, organization, and an ownership mindset.
