About The Position

Autowares is seeking a full-time Local Dispatcher at its Lafayette, Indiana location. This fast-paced, in-store sales and customer service position is responsible for organizing customer orders and deliveries. The role offers training opportunities for advancement. Automotive experience or knowledge is encouraged. The schedule is an 8-hour shift. The position includes coordinating store deliveries and inter-store transfers, supporting drivers, responding to customer concerns, assisting with invoicing documentation, maintaining vehicle upkeep schedules, covering the store counter as needed, and completing returns processing and cycle counts.

Previous experience in the automotive field.
Valid driver's license.
No major driving violations.
No more than two moving violations in the past three years if over age 25, or in the past five years if under age 25.
No more than one at-fault accident.
At least 18 years of age.
Must pass a physical and drug screen.
Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with both arms.

Responsibilities

Schedule and dispatch store delivery drivers.
Coordinate inter-store transfer orders, including shipping, receiving, routing them to their final destinations, and ensuring they are sent out on schedule.
Provide support to drivers.
Resolve customer concerns and issues.
Provide information and documentation for invoicing.
Communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing.
Ensure vehicle maintenance and repairs are completed on time and as needed.
Cover the store counter when needed.
Complete returns processing and store cycle counts daily.
