About The Position

We are hiring CDL-A drivers for a local grocery delivery account based out of Chester, NY. This position offers consistent freight, daily home time, and steady work delivering fresh and frozen groceries to supermarkets and distribution centers. Drivers will typically handle 2 loads per day or one longer route, with potential for holiday work if scheduled. Backhauls may involve picking up return product at the final stop. The delivery area is within a 250-mile radius of Chester, NY, covering Hudson Valley, NY, Long Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania (backhaul routes), and New York City after training and with sufficient experience. NYC routes are assigned after at least 6 months on the account and completion of training. Approximately 20-25% of freight delivers into NYC. The freight is mostly no-touch, with occasional use of a pallet jack. Drivers are expected to maintain professional customer interactions.

Requirements

Valid CDL-A license
Minimum 3 months of recent Class A tractor-trailer experience
Must have reliable transportation to and from the terminal

Nice To Haves

Completion of training with certified NYC trainers for NYC routes.
At least 6 months on the account for NYC routes.

Responsibilities

Deliver fresh and frozen groceries to supermarkets and distribution centers.
Handle approximately 2 loads per day or one longer route.
Work holidays if scheduled.
Pick up return product at final stop for backhauls.
Operate within a 250-mile radius of Chester, NY, including Hudson Valley, Long Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York City (after training).
