About The Position

Millcreek Metals, a metal recycling company with locations in Idaho Falls and Blackfoot, Idaho, is hiring a Local CDL A Driver based at the Blackfoot yard. The driver supports the movement of scrap metal by operating commercial vehicles, completing pickups and deliveries, and working with customers, dispatch, and operations teams. The role emphasizes safe driving, careful load handling, environmental responsibility, and professional customer service. The schedule is five days per week, Monday through Friday, on the day shift, with weekends off.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL and a clean driving record.
• 2–5 years of commercial driving experience.
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials.
• Ability to strap own load.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Experience pulling doubles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, and lugger trucks, in compliance with traffic laws and regulations.
• Load and secure scrap metal materials, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe transportation.
• Plan and follow delivery routes while considering traffic, road closures, and efficient travel paths.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks and promptly report issues to the maintenance department.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Complete delivery logs, bills of lading, and other required delivery and receipt documentation.
• Interact professionally and courteously with customers and clients during pickups and deliveries.
• Handle scrap metal in an environmentally responsible manner and comply with environmental regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations teams to coordinate deliveries and pickups.
