About The Position

CrossCountry Freight Solutions is hiring a Class A route delivery driver with a customer-service focus and a safety-first mindset. The driver operates a company motor vehicle to transfer freight safely and efficiently between specified locations by the required time. The role includes handling a wide variety of freight, manually or with mechanical assistance, and completing paperwork required by government regulations and company procedures and policies. The position is based in Dallas, Texas, and offers local routes with daily home time. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at $32.00 per hour. The role is non-exempt and has no direct reports.

Requirements

Hold a valid Class A CDL.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Have at least 1 year of commercial driving experience.
Have no DUI or DWI convictions in the past 3 years.
Have no more than 3 traffic violations in the past 3 years.
Have Hazmat and Tanker endorsements or be willing to obtain them; renewals are reimbursable.
Successfully complete a pre-employment skills assessment.
Frequently enter and exit the cab of a commercial vehicle.
Safely maneuver freight or pallets weighing up to 2,500 pounds onto a dolly or cart with up to 130 pounds of force, with mechanical aid, in various environments and conditions.
Carry freight weighing up to 40 pounds for up to 20 feet.
Perform commercial vehicle and trailer tasks, including hooking and unhooking combinations, lowering and raising landing gear, operating fifth-wheel release levers, locking and releasing pintle hooks, attaching and releasing safety chains, opening and closing cargo doors, climbing into and out of vehicles, and fueling vehicles and checking oil and coolant levels.

Responsibilities

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Deliver and/or pick up freight at customer locations and/or a terminal as instructed by dispatch or the immediate supervisor.
Ensure shipping documentation is available for DOT inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies shipments to their delivery points.
Load and/or unload a wide variety of freight onto and off a company motor vehicle at customer locations and at the terminal, with or without mechanical assistance depending on freight size.
Unload, sort, palletize, and reload freight.
Complete paperwork required by government regulations and company procedures and policies.
