About The Position

BlueLinx is hiring a Local A CDL Driver to deliver freight and support safe, reliable transportation. Drivers secure loads using straps only; tarping is not required. The role includes delivering freight accurately and on time, handling customer product returns when required, maintaining delivery and trip documentation, and communicating professionally with customers. Drivers also complete safety and DOT inspections and may direct customer unloading. The position offers first-shift hours and home every night and weekend.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Minimum age of 21.
• 12 months of recent, verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years.
• Safe driving record.
• Ability to secure loads.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Properly secure loads using straps; tarping is not required.
• Deliver freight accurately and on time, and handle customer product returns when required.
• Manage Proof of Delivery paperwork from customers.
• Interact professionally with customers and communicate customer issues.
• Maintain the daily safety checklist and perform required DOT inspections.
• Maintain the electronic logbook and complete trip reports.
• Direct customer unloading when required.
