About The Position

The Lobby Houseperson is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the hotel's public areas, particularly during the evening shift. This role involves cleaning the lobby and other public spaces, managing trash, maintaining exterior areas, and ensuring the parking lot and hotel grounds are clean and safe. Additionally, the houseperson supports the laundry operation by washing, drying, folding, and stocking linens and towels. They also respond to guest requests, report maintenance issues, and maintain the security and confidentiality of guest areas. There may be opportunities to assist with guest room cleaning or other housekeeping duties as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum one year cleaning experience
• Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding
• Knowledge of proper chemical handling

Nice To Haves

• Previous hotel experience preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain hotel public areas during the evening shift, ensuring established standards of cleanliness and presentation are consistently met.
• Duties include cleaning the lobby and other public spaces, removing trash, walking and maintaining exterior areas, and checking the parking lot and hotel grounds for cleanliness and safety.
• Provide regular evening support to the laundry operation, including washing, drying, folding, organizing, and stocking linens and towels to help maintain adequate inventory and prepare the housekeeping department for the following day.
• Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, including delivering towels, linens, amenities, and other supplies to guest rooms.
• Report maintenance deficiencies, safety concerns, and unusual activity to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain the confidentiality and security of guest rooms and hotel areas.
• May assist with guest room cleaning or other housekeeping duties when operationally necessary.
