About The Position

The Houseperson is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the hotel's public spaces, particularly during the evening shift. This role involves cleaning the lobby and other public areas, managing trash, maintaining exterior grounds, and supporting the laundry operations. The Houseperson also responds to guest requests and reports any maintenance or safety issues to supervisors. A key aspect of this role is ensuring guest satisfaction through prompt and courteous service, while upholding hotel standards and security procedures.

Requirements

Minimum one year cleaning experience
Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
Knowledge of proper chemical handling.

Nice To Haves

Previous hotel experience preferred.
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain hotel public areas during the evening shift, ensuring established standards of cleanliness and presentation are consistently met.
Duties include cleaning the lobby and other public spaces, removing trash, walking and maintaining exterior areas, and checking the parking lot and hotel grounds for cleanliness and safety.
Provide regular evening support to the laundry operation, including washing, drying, folding, organizing, and stocking linens and towels to help maintain adequate inventory and prepare the housekeeping department for the following day.
Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, including delivering towels, linens, amenities, and other supplies to guest rooms.
Report maintenance deficiencies, safety concerns, and unusual activity to the appropriate supervisor.
Maintain the confidentiality and security of guest rooms and hotel areas.
May assist with guest room cleaning or other housekeeping duties when operationally necessary.
Handle guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction.
Maintains standards of quality and cleanliness throughout daily assignments.
Observes all house and safety rules, housekeeping procedures, and security procedures.
Cleans and services assigned public spaces according to franchise and hotel standards.
Returns and restocks cart at end of shift.
Complete additional deep cleaning / seasonal cleaning functions as scheduled.
Other duties as assigned.
