About The Position

The Loan Technician’s primary duty is to provide excellent customer service to all CHB clients and visitors in-person, over the phone, or via email through initial contact, greeting, and handoff to a co-worker. The position is assigned to the Production/Apps Processing Department and works closely with other CHB associates both internal and external to the work center. Secondary duties include prepare and send written correspondence, prepare and initially handle Credit Applications and Loan Files, data entry and review, filing, and answer phone/email communications. The skill and ability to work independently and as part of a team are needed in this quick-paced and visible position. Daily work crosses multiple time zones and productivity goals are required. Exceptional communication skills and a commitment to customer service are required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One year full-time work experience filling an administrative or clerical support position in an office team environment; loan or banking areas experience preferred.
  • Educational background in credit analysis and review, or equivalent obtained through practical experience.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work successfully in a high-demand, fast-paced, pressure-laced environment.
  • Must be assertive and possess sound decision-making abilities.
  • Competent keyboarding and computer use skills.
  • Ability to learn new software and procedures, and grasp new concepts.
  • Previous software experience/skills in Microsoft applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills (including telephone).
  • Self-sufficient/self-starting.
  • Must be able to produce accurate and timely results while maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
  • General areas of competency: dependability, personal development, work place safety, evaluation and interpersonal skills, prioritization, problem solving, teamwork, time management.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process incoming Credit Applications and Loan Requests; copy/transcribe data, submit online data requests, upload acquired info, and prepare the initial electronic Loan file
  • Serve as the primary user/manager of the organizational “Credit” email account; reply to messages
  • Prepare, print, envelope, and stamp outgoing, written official correspondence
  • File and access or re-file Loan Folders
  • Assist daily with mail processing to include packing, shipping, receipt, and internal delivery of items
  • Maintain an orderly, organized, and professional appearing work center
  • Assist with end-of-day security procedures when needed/requested
  • Effectively utilize a computer work station and associated software to include MS applications, LOS, SilverLake, and other front-end automated data processing tools for loans
  • Perform all other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned
