About The Position

The Loan Support Specialist performs administrative, operational, and member service support as it pertains to loan-related documentation and collateral records. This position is primarily responsible for title administration, lien perfection and release, document management, and regulatory compliance while dealing with exceptional service to members, dealerships, government agencies, and coworkers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of similar or related experience is preferred.
  • Experience in financial institutions is preferred.
  • Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.
  • Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.
  • Pleasant with others on the job and displays a good-natured, cooperative attitude.
  • Greets visitors, uses professional language, speaks clearly and distinctly, and relays information appropriately.

Responsibilities

  • Post all payoffs and release liens/mail out titles.
  • Receive, log, and process all incoming title work and submit to DMV.
  • Receive, index, and maintain title documentation; follow-up on outstanding titles.
  • Assist in answering inquiries regarding titles.
  • Independently work with members, DMV, dealerships, and other sources to timely perfect liens and handle lien rejections.
  • Run GAP and extended warranty reports; process GAP and warranty refunds.
  • Coordinate with loan processing staff to handle all necessary vehicle title documentation to ensure proper filing of lien.
  • Work closely with Loan Support Manager to improve processes, procedures, and efficiencies across all interactions from Financial Service Specialists to processors.
  • Support promotions and strategies to meet credit union’s goals.
  • Recording and release of documents, such as mortgage assignments, trust deeds, and contracts affecting condition of title and property.
  • Perform quality control reviews and audit loan documentation.
  • Responsible for the processing & distribution of member’s loan coupons.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail as it pertains to title work.
  • Provide assistance with photocopying, faxing, filing and distribution of information/documents when needed.
  • Maintain compliance with all credit union policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including BSA/AML, OFAC, and Fair Lending requirements.
  • Participate in Credit Union business development and community relations activities.
  • Adhere to all service standards as outlined in the Credit Union’s policies and procedures.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as needed or requested.
