About The Position

The Loan Servicer assists the credit union by ensuring that information is accurate and maintaining credit union record files with established processes to minimize credit union risk and/or losses. This role provides entry-level servicing knowledge across all business lines with an emphasis on consumer loans and basic mortgage servicing concepts.

Requirements

  • One year to three years of similar or related experience.
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Good organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to run spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Follow the credit union’s Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures, including running OFAC searches, completing investigative reports of suspicious activity and currency transaction reports timely and without error.
  • Follow all security policies and procedures and report discrepancies or suspicious activity to manager immediately.

Responsibilities

  • Follow credit union policies for processing of liens, titles and mortgages including maintaining title files, adding lien secured information to loan tracking as received by county clerks, releasing liens/titles as loans are paid in full, sending letters of notification of lien release and titles when applicable, and assisting with other lien/title processes as needed.
  • Work with staff and county clerks to obtain proper documentation to complete the process to minimize risk to the credit union.
  • Work reports to gather trailing documentation, such as recorded mortgages, assignment of rents and title insurance/attorney opinion letters.
  • Ensure all documentation is properly imaged for file archiving and keep track of liens and final title policies.
  • Work to obtain missing items.
  • Keep manager informed of any issues that may arise when working on perfecting liens, filings releasing liens/ titles, final title policies, etc.
  • Perform maintenance or modifications on loans as requested, including loan recast requests, payoff requests, payment maintenance, etc.
  • Assist with internal and external member inquiries in a timely manner and with a high level of accuracy.
  • Work periodic reports as requested and conduct reconciliation measures as necessary.
  • Work on special projects or assignments as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
