About The Position

This position is responsible for managing the repossession and remarketing process for loans. The specialist will approve units for sale, set pricing, coordinate vehicle pickup and transport, evaluate reconditioning needs, and assist with issuing orders and vehicle redemptions. They will also handle title requests, skip claims, and evaluate units for legal follow-up. A key part of the role involves contacting members to understand delinquency reasons, assist with repayment plans, and monitor repossessed inventory. The specialist will also manage collateral protection insurance, follow up on storage notices, and evaluate accounts for the Member Assistance Program. Additionally, they will review invoices, produce reports, and coordinate with vendor partners. The role also includes processing charge-offs and partial write-downs on repossessed inventory.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two to three years of previous collections/loan resolutions experience, customer service, or sales experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of foreclosure and/or real estate process
  • Desire to help people.
  • Possess strong knowledge of all requirements for repossessions, loan extensions, and reworks.
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong listening skills
  • Professional telephone manner
  • Able to diffuse high-tension situations confidently, effectively, and professional
  • Ability to navigate quickly within various computer programs.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to think quickly under pressure

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree preferred or an equivalent mix of education and collections experience.

Responsibilities

  • Approving units for sale, setting floor pricing, reviewing auction condition reports for potential claim filings
  • Work with the agents to coordinate pick up and transport of vehicles to auction.
  • Evaluation for necessary reconditioning for repossessed units prior to sale.
  • Assist/Back-up for Repossession Specialist with Issuing Orders and Vehicle Redemptions.
  • Request titles for all repossessed units and filed skip claims.
  • Evaluate units for legal follow up
  • Contact members to directly determine the reasons for delinquency and assist them in developing repayment plans to bring the account current and avoid repossession
  • Monitor repossessed inventory and status
  • Assign accounts out for repossession in a timely manner
  • Monitor account with Collateral Protection Insurance and work with members to resolve.
  • Storage notice follow up and completion
  • Evaluate account for a referral to the Member Assistance Program for possible rework and extension when applicable.
  • Review Repossession and Remarketing invoices for accuracy and payment
  • Produces daily, weekly, and monthly reporting required for Loan Resolutions, Senior Leadership, and Finance Department.
  • Coordinate with multiple vendor partners for support of Repossession and Remarketing
  • Process charge-off and partial write-downs on repossessed inventory
