About The Position

As a Loan Processor of the Underwriting team, you will have significant responsibility from the outset, as well as substantial headroom for professional growth. You will play a pivotal role on our credit risk/underwriting team by making credit decisions and managing our credit portfolio. In this role, you will follow the tasks set before you by our proven processes and proprietary software to assess the credit worthiness of businesses. You will also use your critical thinking skills to gain a deep understanding of the best practices set forth by our underwriting policy guidelines to leave clear concise notes to help assist the Underwriters/Sales agents.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Prior exposure to finance, lending, banking, underwriting support, or document review is helpful but not required
Comfort reviewing bank statements, credit reports, or business documentation at a basic level
Ability to follow defined workflows and instructions
Willingness to learn working capital products and internal systems
Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Clear written and verbal communication
Ability to multitask and manage priorities
Coachable mindset with a desire to learn and grow
Team-oriented and accountable

Responsibilities

Use internal systems to process incoming funding applications and ensure files are complete, accurate and properly organized
Review and input information from bank statements, credit reports and supporting business documents
Confirm key business and applicant information is consistent across all documentation
Address standard processing items and flags, determining whether they can be resolved or need to be escalated
Identify missing, expired or inconsistent documentation and request corrections as needed
Ensure files are clean and ready to move forward to the next stage of review
Conduct final review of approved files, completing all remaining due diligence items such as merchant interviews, verification calls, updated bank statements, and reviewing any outstanding stipulations
Confirm all funding conditions have been met, and the deal is fully prepared for a timely, accurate funding
Maintain clear and accurate notes within internal systems
Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams to keep files moving efficiently
Assist with ad-hoc projects and operational support as needed
