About The Position

The Loan Processor II reviews and processes loan applications across Navient products, including student loan refinance, personal loans, and student loan originations. In this role, you’ll review application details such as income, expenses, and credit information, verify supporting documents, and help move applications through the process. You’ll also connect with customers by phone and email to gather information and answer questions, playing a key role in delivering a smooth and efficient application experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/ GED/ equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of experience in reviewing consumer credit applications (auto, credit card, student loan, personal loan etc.)
  • Ability to efficiently evaluate multiple data points in an ambiguous environment.
  • Advanced ability to perform mathematical calculations related to personal finance.
  • Strong underwriting and financial analysis skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and validate complex financial and identity documentation.
  • Knowledge of consumer lending and associated financial and fraud risks.
  • Strong verbal communication and client engagement skills.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively navigate multiple systems and tools.
  • Collaboration and adaptability in a production‑based environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with fraud detection, remediation, tools and systems.
  • Knowledge of Fraud Factors.
  • Experience in a production-based environment.
  • Knowledge of loan servicing.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing client uploads (paystubs, tax returns, asset statements, identification documents, etc).
  • Establishing client identity by verifying consistency between client submitted information and third-party data sources.
  • Inputting qualifying information for accurate decision making.
  • Proactively engaging clients through phone, booked calls, or email to support clients, providing the right details to clients reaching the point of decision.
  • Work with management to identify areas of opportunity to develop new procedures or policies.
  • Prepare audit materials in support of other Earnest business units (Legal, Compliance and Risk).
  • Identifies areas of opportunity for improved accuracy and/or efficiency of file preparation and review.
  • Provide feedback on internal tooling and system issues identified during processing.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge by attending training sessions and reviewing internal knowledge bases.
  • Other duties as assigned.
