About The Position

Provide assistance to loan officers and staff in all aspects of loan origination, servicing and maintenance through the life of the loan cycle. This position includes performance of various loan-related duties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with bank policy and regulations.

Requirements

Working knowledge of math/accounting.
Exceptional at managing details while remaining organized.

Strong customer service skills and ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and accomplish a variety of tasks.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word and Excel.
Strong sense of initiative and ability to work independently without close supervision.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
One (1) year experience in loan operations.

Nice To Haves

Experience boarding loans to a core banking system, filing and recording collateral, and scanning/indexing documentation, is preferred.

Responsibilities

Data entry of new loans, disbursements, payments, and payoffs.
Maintain and process real estate loan escrow transactions and accounts.
Verify accurate loan input and maintenance.
Prepare and/or assemble loan documentation.
Process extension and deferral agreements.
Verify accuracy and compliance of loan documentation.
Monitor for adequate insurance coverage on loan collateral.
Complete and retain all compliance-related documents especially as related to flood, RESPA, HMDA, Regulations B and Z.
File, maintain, archive, retrieve and monitor loan documents whether electronic or hard copy.
Scan and index loan documents.
Ensure the bank’s lien position through timely recording of liens and perfection of collateral positions.
Respond to credit inquiries.
Prepare various reports.
Answers telephone and written inquiries concerning loan processing and information.
Resolve customer complaints or inquiries in a tactful, effective manner.
Assist customer contact personnel with queries and activities to improve overall services to bank customers.
Back-up and assist other loan operations personnel.
Participate in bank/community activities.
Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with Bank Secrecy Act.
Cross-sell bank products and services as appropriate.
Complete required annual training and maintain knowledge relevant to the role.
Participate in bank and community initiatives to strengthen visibility and reinforce Firstar’s commitment to the communities it serves.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned in support of the Bank’s priorities and objectives.
