About The Position

The Loan Administrator I provides foundational administrative support in the processing and servicing of consumer loans. This role focuses on accurate execution of established procedures, timely document handling, and responsive support to Members and internal Team Members. The Loan Administrator I works under general supervision, ensuring loan quality standards are met while gaining proficiency in servicing functions. This position contributes to departmental efficiency by identifying routine process improvements and maintaining a high level of accuracy and reliability.

Requirements

  • A high school education or GED

  • Proficient in the areas of detail and documentation.
  • Apply the highest level of ethical scrutiny in all situations and ensure that the protection of the Credit Union is the primary objective.
  • Read and understand insurance declaration sheets.
  • Knowledge of credit union policies/procedures regarding insurance requirements.
  • Understand loan documents and required signatures.
  • Knowledge of all loan products and services, title and insurance requirements, appropriate documents, disclosures, and all applicable Consumer Credit laws and regulations.
  • Provide Member service that is in accordance with department and/or organizational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Handle paid loans according to procedures, ensuring timely responses in credit reporting and disputes.
  • Complete lien releases as per established policies.
  • Process payments and manage inquiries from third parties related to loans.
  • Manage GAP agreements, claims, and cancellations, and reconcile related accounts monthly.
  • Review new loans for accuracy and correct any discrepancies, notifying the relevant individuals and ensuring liens are filed and perfected in a timely manner.
  • Assist other departments with loan file maintenance and address Member inquiries about loans.
  • Check in, scan, index, and validate all necessary documents for each loan transaction, including loan and lien perfection documents.
  • Keep policy manuals updated with lending changes, reviewing them annually and suggesting updates to the Director of Loan Servicing.
  • Manage the receipt and processing of bankruptcy notifications, ensuring compliance established policies and procedures.
