About The Position

The Dock Technician will assist a team of employees ensuring that boats are properly staged and loaded/unloaded, and direct contract and dealer truck drivers through loading and unloading processes and procedures. Will coordinate individual dealer relationships with the Logistics and Quality Managers to ensure proper loading requirements are met at the plant to facilitate unloading requirements at the receiving end. This role is responsible for assembling, testing, and preparing sub-components used in boat manufacturing, ensuring they meet company quality standards and comply with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous logistics dock experience preferred.
  • Material handling experience preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in mechanical assembly, preferably in marine, automotive, or related industries preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot minor assembly issues.
  • Knowledge of boating components or marine systems a plus.
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Excellent Time Management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills a plus.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Proficient or ability to quickly learn MS Office Suite or related software to monitor and maintain records, inventory, ERP a plus.
  • Safety-conscious with knowledge of workplace safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe and efficient loading and unloading of all boats using equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and pallet jacks.
  • Conduct daily inspections, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and internal laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Consult with Logistics/Quality Manager to plan deliveries of future shipments.
  • Safely operate material-handling equipment to move freight, monitor trailer construction, and ensure load quality.
  • Keep the dock area organized, clean, and safe, following all safety protocols and company procedures.
  • Closely communicate with Logistics/Quality Manager and other dock personnel always ensuring proper cargo movement.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
