About The Position

As a Loading Dock Specialist, you will be instrumental in the efficient operation of the Red Dot loading dock. Reporting to the Loading Dock Lead, Logistic Coordinators and Director of Logistics, you will work within a team to ensure the loading and unloading of steel building components, following safety protocols, and optimizing workflow efficiency.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or warehouse management is a plus.
• Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for warehouse operations.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding quality standards.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) regularly.
• Comfort working in various weather conditions, as loading docks may be exposed to outdoor elements.
• Willingness to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for loading and unloading of shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Coordinate with drivers for outgoing shipments.
• Utilize equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and yard mules to move freight safely and efficiently.
• Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
• Assist with conducting regular safety inspections of equipment and loading dock areas, addressing any hazards or concerns promptly.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for damage, discrepancies, or quality issues, documenting findings as needed.
• Ensure that goods are handled and stored appropriately to prevent damage or loss.
• Maintain open lines of communication with Logistic Coordinators, the Director of Logistics, and other relevant departments to coordinate activities and resolve issues.
• Relay instructions, updates, and directives to dock workers effectively, ensuring clarity and understanding.
