About The Position

The Loader Operator operates a rubber-tired, skid steer, or crawler-type tractor equipped with a front-end scoop bucket to load materials from stockpiles, excavation sites, and batch plants, and to load and unload trucks. The machine may also be used with attachments in place of the bucket. The operator follows safety policies and procedures, avoids hazards and obstructions, and may service and adjust the equipment as needed. This role performs strenuous physical work outdoors in changing weather conditions.

Requirements

Less than a high school diploma and related construction experience.
Manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items, work with fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.

Responsibilities

Start engines and operate machine throttles, switches, levers, and pedals.
Signal truck drivers to position trucks for loading dirt, rocks, and other materials.
Take action to avoid hazards and obstructions, including utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
Oil, grease, or otherwise service the machine as needed.
Make necessary equipment adjustments.
Comply with safety policies, practices, and procedures.
Report unsafe activities to a supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Provide leadership through example and sharing knowledge and skills.
Perform other duties as assigned.
