An exciting opportunity exists to join our dedicated team in Cranbrook, BC based out of the Fort Steele Pit! This position will be full-time, Monday to Friday, with no weekend work (unless over-time opportunities are provided). Front End Wheel Loader Operators will enjoy operating our late model equipment. Requirements

  • Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract.
  • 2 years’ experience operating a front-end wheel loader.
  • Previous experience loading gravel trucks in a production environment.
  • Ability to perform general loader maintenance.
  • Knowledge of mixing/blending raw gravel.
  • Experience stock piling aggregates.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Motor Vehicle Act and Regulations.
  • Ability to work different shifts, such as callouts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Capable of performing heavy physical labour.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and committed with a positive attitude.
  • Willingness to follow instructions and take directions.
  • Safety conscious with a willingness to learn and practice safe work habits and actively participate in worksite safety.
  • Ability to maintain excellent customer relations.

Responsibilities

  • Operating a front-end wheel loader to load gravel trucks, feed the crusher, screen and/or wash plant.
  • Maintenance of equipment such as the loader, crusher, screen and/or wash plant including screen changes and routine maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures such as pre trips, post trips, and hazard assessments.
  • Conduct safety walk arounds and site inspections.
  • Shovel excess material away from the crusher, screen and/or wash plant unit as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve situations and problems related to material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.
  • Monitor and discuss production issues and opportunities with management.
  • Carrying out other related duties as assigned.
