About The Position

The Loader/Cart Associate supports customers throughout the store by helping locate, select, carry, and load merchandise; answering questions; and supporting checkout, fulfillment, and other customer assistance needs. The role pulls, stages, and prepares customer and contractor orders, replenishes merchandise, collects carts, and helps keep the store and parking lot clean, organized, and safe. Associates use store technology and power equipment safely as needed, communicate product and program information, follow Lowe’s safety policies, and report safety hazards, theft, or security concerns. Loader duties may include serving as a visible extension of the Pro Desk, assisting Pro customers from arrival through order completion, fulfilling large or complex orders, and supporting relationships with repeat Pro customers and enrollment in MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit. In the Garden Center, the role assists customers and associates with loading and order completion, keeps the loading area supported, and partners with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to stage orders for pickup. Loading work requires appropriate techniques and completed power-equipment and spotter training.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as required by law.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
At least 6 months of retail experience.
At least 6 months of experience as a Loader at a home improvement or hardware retailer.
At least 6 months of retail merchandising experience, including zone recovery, stocking, down stocking, facing or fronting product, pricing, maintaining signage, and housekeeping.
At least 6 months of experience in any industry inspecting, carrying, loading, and unloading products or materials into or out of vehicles.

Responsibilities

Provide SMART customer service in accordance with Lowe’s policies, procedures, and programs.
Help customers locate, select, carry, and load merchandise, and respond to customer and associate questions.
Support checkout, fulfillment, and customer assistance needs throughout the store.
Pull, stage, and prepare customer and contractor orders accurately and efficiently.
Use power equipment and store technology safely and effectively to move, stage, and load merchandise.
Down stock and replenish merchandise to maintain in-stock conditions.
Support large-order fulfillment while maintaining product quality and accuracy.
Collect carts and maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas inside the store and in the parking lot.
Identify and report safety hazards, theft, and security concerns to management or Asset Protection.
Operate store equipment as needed for the assigned role and department.
Communicate stock, special-order merchandise, product features, applications, warranties, and Lowe’s program information to customers; provide project guidance when needed.
Follow Lowe’s safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of power equipment, spotters, and safety devices.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
For Pro Loader duties, support Pro customer relationships from arrival through order completion; engage Pro customers; remain available in the Pro loading area; respond promptly to loading requests; and assist with large or complex orders.
For Pro Loader duties, build relationships with repeat Pro customers and support enrollment in MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit offerings.
For Pro Loader duties, maintain Pro Standards in the parking lot and beneath the Pro canopy.
For Loader duties, complete required power-equipment and spotter training and load vehicles using techniques appropriate to order size, weight, and fulfillment needs.
For Garden Center Loader duties, assist customers and associates with loading and order completion, remain available in the loading area, and support large orders while maintaining product accuracy and safety.
For Garden Center Loader duties, partner with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to ensure customer orders are staged and ready for pickup.
