LNA - Memory Care - Part time day
About The Position
The Licensed Nursing Assistant is responsible for working collaboratively under the direction of the Staff Nurse to deliver basic personal care support and specific aspects of patient care. Responsive communication, respect, and support to our residents is the central feature of this position. Memory Care is designed to meet the changing needs of individuals as they experience the progression of symptoms and increases in cognitive loss associated with a diagnosis of dementia. Our early-stage program offers activity-based care in a warm, supportive and safe environment with a primary goal of helping individuals maintain dignity, purpose and functional ability. This highly specialized unit is staffed with very dedicated advocates and team members. Residents in this unit are the most vulnerable, usually unable to advocate for themselves. Helen Porter Rehabilitation & Nursing is a welcoming, secure residence where loved ones are assured of skilled nursing care and assistance with daily living and where privacy is honored and individuality respected. Nestled in the farmlands of Middlebury, Helen Porter has accommodations for 105 people, is licensed by the state of Vermont and certified by Medicare and Medicaid. Helen Porter is a skilled and intermediate care residence which specializes in providing a home-like environment. The University of Vermont Health Network/Porter Medical Center is located in the heart of beautiful Middlebury, Vermont. We are comprised of a 25-bed acute care facility, a 98-bed skilled nursing facility which includes a memory care unit, short-term rehabilitation unit and a long-term care unit, and a network of primary care and specialty medical practices throughout Addison county and the town of Brandon.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- State of Vermont LNA license
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work respectfully and successfully as a member of a team

Benefits
- Sign-on bonus of up to $7,500
- Shift differentials: Evening: $3.00 per hour Night: $5.00 per hour Weekend $2 per hour (in addition to any applicable evening or night differentials)
