About The Position

We are seeking a contract engineer with proven experience in integrating enterprise Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Experience Platforms (LXP) with content providers. The integration layer is responsible for catalog synchronization and learner completion tracking across multiple third-party platforms. This role requires immediate contribution to building integrations from day one, rather than learning the fundamentals of LMS integrations.

Requirements

Proven experience integrating with enterprise LMS or LXP platforms (Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Cornerstone, Oracle Learning, Degreed, Percipio, or comparable systems).
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and vendors with courtesy, clarity, and appropriate technical language.
Strong proficiency in Ruby and experience navigating/extending a Rails codebase.
Deep familiarity with OAuth2 and REST API patterns, including auth flows like SAML 2.0 assertion exchange.
Working knowledge of xAPI (Experience API / Tin Can) for learning record statements.
Comfort with SFTP-based file exchange and CSV generation.
Ability to independently read and implement against third-party API documentation.
Experience with background job patterns (e.g., GoodJob) and retry/backoff strategies.

Nice To Haves

Cornerstone OnDemand or Oracle Learning API experience.
Familiarity with content packaging standards (SCORM, xAPI/cmi5) beyond completion tracking.
Experience in edtech or enterprise learning platforms.

Responsibilities

Build new LMS/LXP integrations with platforms such as Cornerstone OnDemand, Docebo, Oracle Learning, and others.
Implement integrations within the existing Ruby on Rails framework, adhering to established patterns for catalog building and completion tracking.
Manage partner-specific authentication, including OAuth2, SAML2 assertion-based OAuth, and SFTP.
Translate partner API documentation into functional catalog upload and xAPI completion tracking implementations.
Maintain and extend existing integrations with Workday CCL, SAP SuccessFactors, Skillsoft Percipio, Seertech, and Degreed.
Handle SFTP/CSV architecture for integrations like Degreed, demonstrating comfort with both legacy and modern API-based approaches.
Debug completion tracking issues, catalog sync failures, and authentication edge cases.
Enhance retry logic, error handling, and observability within the existing framework.
Ensure catalog payloads (courses, learning paths, lessons, curations) meet partner API specifications and include necessary metadata.
Maintain accuracy of completion tracking via xAPI statements for various learning events.
Implement caching patterns to prevent duplicate completion submissions.
