Livestock Handler 3rd Shift

About The Position

This position is responsible for working with livestock, which includes but is not limited to driving, sorting, weighing, tattooing, marking, and penning of livestock while keeping accurate inventories and head counts. The role also involves operating the hot-scale and Bio Q, and performing light building maintenance and showcase duties when not working with livestock. This position requires moving hogs safely and effectively with minimum stress to the hog, following all humane handling guidelines as per policy, and performing any other duties deemed appropriate by the supervisor. All Tyson Team Members are responsible for safety, including personal safety and food safety.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Ability to lift 70 pounds or more unassisted
Ability to stand for extended periods of time (8 to 10 hours excluding break time)
Excellent attendance (6 points or less)
Excellent disciplinary record (no suspensions in the last 12 months)
Must submit a resume for consideration
Basic computer knowledge is preferred
Good communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to communicate with all levels of team members and government officials
Must be able to work in a very fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

Prior experience working with and handling livestock in loading and unloading operations
Experience with skid loaders and forklift operation
Basic experience with livestock handling in a procurement area of the meat industry
Prior knowledge and experience with humane animal handling procedures, process, and general policy in the area of procurement
