Live-In & Travel Caregiver / HHA / CNA
About The Position
McKenney Home Care is seeking an experienced, dependable Live-In Caregiver, HHA, or CNA for a long-term private-duty assignment with a male client living with advanced Alzheimer’s disease. This is a unique opportunity for a caregiver who is comfortable providing consistent one-on-one support, building a strong relationship with the client and family, and traveling extensively throughout the year. The client and his wife primarily reside in Naples, Florida, with extended stays in California, as well as additional domestic and international travel. The client has advanced Alzheimer’s disease and requires an experienced caregiver who is comfortable supporting someone with significant cognitive impairment. The family is looking for a caregiver who can develop strong rapport with the client and provide consistent, respectful support while traveling and at home. The client is seeking a male companion-style caregiver based on his individual care needs and family preferences.
Requirements
- Previous professional caregiving experience required
- Dementia/Alzheimer’s care experience strongly preferred
- HHA certificate, Florida CNA license, or strong professional caregiving background
- Valid passport and ability to travel domestically and internationally
- Valid Driver’s License
- Current Auto Insurance
- Reliable Transportation
- Current hands-on CPR certification, or willingness to obtain
- TB screening within the required timeframe or qualifying chest X-ray
- Eligibility for AHCA Level 2 background screening, or willingness to complete the required screening
- Dependable attendance, strong communication, and professional conduct

- Comfortable with advanced-stage cognitive impairment
- Experienced with live-in or extended private-duty assignments
- Calm, patient, attentive, and adaptable
- Professional and discreet in a private family environment

- Redirection, reassurance, and maintaining familiar routines
- Assistance with activities of daily living as outlined in the care plan
- Mobility and safety support
- Meal preparation and hydration support
- Light housekeeping and laundry
- Medication reminders as permitted by the care plan
- Observation and reporting of changes in condition or behavior
- Maintaining a calm, structured, and safe environment
- Accompanying the client and family during domestic and international travel
- Communicating regularly with the family and McKenney Home Care team
