Live-In Caregiver / HHA / CNA
About The Position
McKenney Home Care is seeking an experienced, dependable Live-In Caregiver, HHA, or CNA for a female client in Venice. This is a great opportunity for a caregiver who enjoys building a strong one-on-one relationship with a client and providing consistent support in the home. The client would like to establish a comfortable routine and rapport with a small, consistent caregiving team rather than having frequent caregiver changes. The client lives alone and is recovering from a broken hip with limited mobility. She primarily needs a caregiver who can provide standby assistance, companionship, and support with maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment.
Requirements
- Previous professional caregiving experience preferred
- HHA certificate, Florida CNA license, or strong hands-on caregiving experience preferred
- Valid Driver’s License
- Current Auto Insurance
- Reliable Transportation
- Current hands-on CPR certification, or willingness to obtain
- TB screening within the required timeframe, or qualifying chest X-ray
- Eligibility for AHCA Level 2 background screening, or willingness to complete the required screening
Nice To Haves
- Experienced with live-in or private-duty home care
- Comfortable assisting a client with limited mobility
- Patient, attentive, and dependable
- Comfortable providing standby assistance while allowing the client to remain as independent as possible
- Interested in developing a positive, ongoing relationship with one client
- Respectful of the client’s home, routines, and preferences
- Able to communicate clearly with the client, family, and office team
Responsibilities
- Standby assistance with mobility and daily routines
- Assistance with maintaining a safe environment while mobility is limited
- Companionship and conversation
- Light housekeeping and general tidying
- Laundry and changing linens as needed
- Meal preparation and kitchen cleanup
- Medication reminders as directed by the care plan/client need
- Observation and reporting of changes or concerns
- Following the established care plan and agency instructions
- Providing consistent, respectful support while encouraging independence when appropriate
