The purpose of a live hanger is to discern between live and dead chickens and hang the live ones on moving shackles. • Ability to work in a fast paced setting
• Ability to handle live chickens weighing 2-5 pounds
• Ability to hang chickens on moving shackles
• Ability to adhere to all George’s policies & procedures and all animal welfare laws & regulations
• Ability to stand for several hours at a time
• Ability to work in a dimly lighted work area shoulder to shoulder with other employees
• Ability to grasp a chicken at approximately waist level
• Ability to hang a live chicken on a shackle at shoulder height
• Ability to discern a live chicken from a dead chicken

Responsibilities

• Work in a fast paced setting hanging a live chicken weighing 2-5 pounds, on every 5th shackle
• Adhere to all George’s policies & procedures and all animal welfare laws & regulations.
• Stand for several hours at a time
• Work in a dimly lighted work area shoulder to shoulder with other employees
• Grasp a chicken at approximately waist level and hang a live chicken on a shackle at shoulder height
• Discern a live chicken from a dead chicken
