About The Position

The purpose of a live hanger is to discern between live and dead chickens and hang the live ones on moving shackles. This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced setting, hanging live chickens weighing 2-5 pounds on every 5th shackle. The position also involves adhering to all company policies, procedures, and animal welfare laws and regulations.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to hang a live chicken weighing 2-5 pounds on every 5th shackle.
• Ability to stand for several hours at a time.
• Ability to work in a dimly lighted work area shoulder to shoulder with other employees.
• Ability to grasp a chicken at approximately waist level and hang a live chicken on a shackle at shoulder height.
• Ability to discern a live chicken from a dead chicken.
