About The Position
Tyson Foods Inc. is seeking applicants for live bird hanging positions at their New Holland Plant. This role is part of the live processing area and involves hanging live birds on a conveyor line at a high rate of speed. The work environment is described as dark and dusty, requiring stamina and the ability to handle fast-paced work with heavy chickens. Candidates must be willing to work in a live bird area, tolerate motion, and work on a fast-moving processing line. The job also requires standing on a platform two feet above the floor and performing various physical movements including standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching. Lifting is also a requirement, with the weight depending on the specific area.
Requirements
- Willingness to work in the live processing area in any available shift.
- Ability to hang live birds on conveyor shackles at a rate of 24 birds per minute.
- Stamina for a fast-paced job that requires hanging heavy chickens.
- Willingness to work in a live bird area department.
- Ability to tolerate motion and work on a fast-moving processing line.
- Willingness to work on a stand that is two (2) feet above floor level.
- Willingness to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, pull, and reach.
- Ability to perform lifting tasks.
- Provide government identification number for verification of previous Tyson employment history.
- Applicants who have worked for Tyson Foods 3 or more times will not be accepted.
- Accepts rehires after 180 days, with Tyson reserving the right to require longer waiting periods or not accept rehires based on the reason for dismissal.
- Successful candidates must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
