About The Position

The Litigation Specialist Intern will be a second-year law student in good academic standing, assisting in-house attorneys with the defense of insureds of the Auto Club. This role involves handling a variety of claims related to automobile and homeowners’ property and casualty insurance matters. The internship offers opportunities for practical litigation experience, including observing depositions, mediations, and trials. The positions are expected to be 15-20 hours per week during the school year and up to 30 hours per week during the summer. Interns will work under the non-exempt job code title of “Litigation Specialist.” The internship is a hybrid arrangement, combining remote access and in-office work. These law student internships coincide with the broader AAA Roadways College Interns program, providing additional networking and exposure to various departments.

Requirements

  • Second year law students in good academic standing
  • Desire to continue with the Auto Club as a full-time litigation attorney post-graduation
  • Successful passage of California bar exam

Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of mentor attorneys to perform and assist with multiple legal tasks, including responding to discovery, conducting legal research, law and motion work, general litigation, and trial support.
  • Gain actual litigation experience and participate in depositions, mediations, and trials as observers.

Benefits

  • The starting pay for this position is $35.48 per hour.
