About The Position

The Litigation Specialist Intern will be a second-year law student in good academic standing, assisting in-house attorneys with the defense of insureds of the Auto Club. This involves handling a wide range of claims for damages related to automobile and homeowners’ property and casualty insurance matters. The internship offers opportunities for practical litigation experience, including observing depositions, mediations, and trials. The positions are part of the broader AAA Roadways College Interns program, providing additional networking and exposure to various departments. The internship is expected to be 15-20 hours per week during the school year and up to 30 hours per week during the summer. The role is under the non-exempt job code title of “Litigation Specialist.”

Requirements

  • Second-year law students in good academic standing.
  • Desire to continue with the Auto Club as a full-time litigation attorney post-graduation.
  • Successful passage of California bar exam.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of mentor attorneys to perform and assist with multiple legal tasks.
  • Respond to discovery requests.
  • Conduct legal research.
  • Engage in law and motion work.
  • Assist with general litigation.
  • Provide trial support.
  • Observe depositions, mediations, and trials.

Benefits

  • The starting pay for this position is $35.48 per hour.
