About The Position

The Freelance Firm is a national network of experienced, high-level, freelance attorneys and paralegals providing remote, on-demand support for legal projects for client law firms. Due to increased demand, we are interviewing for a qualified, experienced, and dedicated Southern California Litigation Paralegal with Trial Preparation and Personal Injury/Medical Malpractice experience. Remote work hours will vary, but are expected to be approximately 10+ hours per week.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal with direct experience in California litigation matters.
Prior experience handling Personal Injury and/or Medical Malpractice cases required.
Strong trial preparation experience.
Strong experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence.
Ability to manage and organize large volumes of medical records, expert materials, and case documents.
Experience coordinating depositions, mediations, expert witnesses, and trial logistics.
Strong knowledge of California civil litigation procedures, court rules, and deadlines.
Experience with e-filing in California state and federal courts.
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and strong case management skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced litigation environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Preparing trial binders, exhibits, witness files, and other trial-related materials.
Supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial.
Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence.
Managing and organizing large volumes of medical records, expert materials, and case documents.
Coordinating depositions, mediations, expert witnesses, and trial logistics.
E-filing in California state and federal courts.
