Rust Belt Resources has partnered with a highly respected, regional law firm on a detail-oriented and proactive Litigation Paralegal to join their team in Charleston, West Virginia. In this role, you will take ownership of litigation files and provide comprehensive support to attorneys through trial preparation, administrative coordination, and client communication.

Requirements

Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a paralegal, ideally with a focus on litigation.
Paralegal certification is a strong plus, but not required.
Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet research.
Outstanding organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities with an uncompromising eye for detail.
Absolute commitment to maintaining strict client and firm confidentiality.
A client-focused attitude with the ability to work independently while remaining a highly collaborative team player.

Responsibilities

Draft discovery documents, assist in preparing key legal filings (petitions, motions, responses, notices), and manage the litigation docket.
Handle electronic filing (e-filing) in both state and federal courts and diligently calendar all case deadlines.
Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings and trials, including the compilation of trial notebooks.
Order, track, and organize medical and billing records.
Schedule depositions, handle client inquiries, and assist with general administrative duties (typing, formatting documents, scanning, and filing).
Assist attorneys with transactional real estate and corporate matters as needed.
