Fish & Richardson, a premier global intellectual property law firm, is seeking a Litigation Docketing Specialist to join their Litigation Practice Systems Department. This is a remote-first position, part of The Hub, Fish’s remote-first group of professionals. Hub employees work primarily from home with no expectation of a regular in-office presence. The role focuses on candidates in San Diego and Silicon Valley. The specialist will independently review legal documents and litigation correspondence to accurately calculate, record, and disseminate docket dates according to court rules and procedures. This includes understanding source documents, reviewing court dockets, verifying jurisdiction and venue, and analyzing calculated dates. The role involves accurately entering all deadlines into Milana, the firm’s litigation docketing platform, providing proactive support to litigation teams, and coordinating with docketing attorneys to ensure correct docketing. The specialist will also perform quality reviews of their own work, respond to inquiries about docketed events and deadlines, prepare and distribute docket reports, and assist with research on court rules. Maintaining and improving processes to enhance efficiency and minimize risk, and promoting the firm’s docketing policies are also key responsibilities.
