About The Position

Under minimal supervision, the Docketing Specialist will provide docketing coverage for nationally located offices in a timely and accurate fashion. This role will provide backup coverage as needed in assisting other docketing specialists with firm-wide docketing. The essential functions of this role include assisting in coordinating the docketing process, which involves monitoring office specific inboxes for receipt of docketing entries, coordinating with those who send entries, reviewing litigation and business filings to determine deadlines, entering and updating docket entries, producing various docket reports, and troubleshooting docket concerns and issues. The Docketing Specialist will also provide ongoing information and technical support to attorneys, legal staff, and administrative staff throughout the firm concerning the specific policies and general mechanics relating to the docketing process. Additionally, this role will provide backup assistance to the Litigation Docketing Supervisor as needed. Punctuality and consistent attendance during regularly scheduled working hours are expected.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage multiple details and prioritize.
  • Ability to function effectively as a team while maintaining accuracy of detail.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of firm personnel with professionalism.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and skills in time management.
  • Ability to accurately type 55 wpm.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong command of the English language, including excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, and knowledge of Firm's form and style.
  • Functional knowledge of standard MS Office applications.
  • Working knowledge of all litigation and business court filings.
  • Bachelor's degree and between 2 and 4 years of docketing or relevant legal support or database experience, or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with docketing software such as CompuLaw and CourtAlert.
  • Proficiencies in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience in a law firm.

Responsibilities

  • Compensation range: $71,470 to $106,190 annually (Colorado)
  • Compensation range: $75,430 to $112,080 annually (Illinois)
  • Compensation range: $75,390 to $112,020 annually (Washington state)
  • Compensation range: $81,420 to $120,980 annually (Washington, D.C.)
