About The Position

Tucker Arensberg, P.C., a mid-sized, full-service law firm, is seeking an experienced attorney to join the Litigation practice group in its Pittsburgh office. The firm, ranked among the Best Law Firms, has served clients since 1900 and has offices across multiple states. The Litigation Practice Group handles a wide range of cases including commercial litigation, employment litigation, municipal litigation, toxic tort defense, and personal injury defense. This role offers the opportunity to provide expertise from general business law to complex insurance coverage litigation within a dynamic team environment.

Requirements

  • License to practice law in Pennsylvania with bar admission in good standing
  • Degree from an accredited law school
  • 3-6 years' general litigation experience
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in and adapt to a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management mindset
  • Commitment to professionalism, cooperation, and teamwork
  • A strong drive to provide proactive, client-focused legal services

Responsibilities

  • Provide analysis and counsel to clients on legal policy.
  • Lead the client through the litigation process including depositions and courtroom strategies.
  • Provide legal counsel on issues arising from actual or anticipated lawsuits.
  • Anticipate and guard against legal risks facing the client.
  • Develop and recommend client policy and position on legal issues.
  • Conduct and coordinate research, interview clients and witnesses, and handle all other details related to the preparation of trial or depositions.
  • Represent the client or its officials in various legal proceedings.
  • Prepare for trial including taking and defending depositions, written discovery, and other case preparation.
  • Draft briefs, pleadings, position statements, stipulations, and dispositive motions.
  • Write and administer complex legal arguments and defend such in court.
  • Counsel clients on creation of sound operating policies, procedural improvements, and related agreements to avoid future litigation.
  • Participate in practice group meetings to review current objectives, cases, and network with other attorneys and stakeholders in the group.
  • Participate in professional development initiatives for Continuing Legal Education and firm sponsored seminars.
  • Attends social functions and speaking engagements that support the development of the attorney's practice.
  • Author publications for internal or external use.
