About The Position
Friedman Vartolo LLP is seeking an experienced default litigator to handle a wide range of litigated matters, including contested motions, appeals, and evidentiary hearings. The attorney will manage contested cases from devising legal strategies through execution, and will work alongside other attorneys at the firm. The position can be remote.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience independently handling contested motion practice.
- Admission to practice law in New York.
- Superior writing, research, and oral advocacy abilities.
- Ability to identify and resolve legal issues quickly and proficiently.
- Ability and willingness to manage a heavy workload and produce a significant amount of legal work.
Nice To Haves
- Admission to practice law in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Connecticut.
Responsibilities
- Draft motions, briefs, and memorandums of law.
- Conduct legal research.
- Appear in court for a wide range of matters, including high-level contested motions and evidentiary hearings.
- Respond to relevant discovery requests and engage in motion practice.
- Maintain responsibility for all aspects of assigned contested cases, including devising and executing legal strategies.
