About The Position
This is a contract opportunity for a Litigation Attorney specializing in Labor & Employment (L&E) in Los Angeles, CA. The role is remote and involves handling wage and hour class actions. The attorney will be responsible for various aspects of litigation, including discovery, legal research, motion practice, and settlement preparation.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in wage and hour class actions
- Licensed and in good standing with the California Bar
- Strong understanding of California Labor Code, IWC Wage Orders, and PAGA
- Excellent legal writing and research skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and work independently in a remote environment
Nice To Haves
- Law school journal experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Draft and respond to written discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on wage and hour issues
- Assist with drafting complaints, motions (including class certification and dispositive motions), and oppositions
- Review and analyze payroll, timekeeping, and employment records
- Support deposition preparation and strategy
- Assist with settlement strategy and mediation preparation as needed
