The LIS Systems Administrator role involves functioning in various clinical areas, acting as a help desk resource, and taking corrective actions for integrated systems. This position requires monitoring systems for abnormal conditions, operating the master console, managing tape volumes, and reviewing backups. The administrator will troubleshoot and install file server hardware and operating systems, as well as install and troubleshoot standard and customized software applications. Responsibilities also include assisting with software upgrade testing, documenting and responding to trouble calls, meeting with vendors for hardware and software selection, leading networking activities for projects, and ensuring security procedures are enforced. The role requires performing professional, clinical, and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department. Other duties may be assigned as required.
