About The Position
The Liquor Store General Manager 1A oversees the full operation of the Fine Wine & Good Spirits store at West Water Street in Mount Union. The role involves planning, customer service, staffing, and store presentation, while supporting smooth daily operations and maintaining high standards for service and efficiency. The General Manager leads and develops the store team and helps drive the success of the store within a state-owned business. The position is full-time, with work hours varying and totaling 75 hours biweekly. Telework is not available. Free, secure onsite parking is provided. Applicants must meet Pennsylvania residency requirements, be able to perform essential job functions, and pass a background investigation. A felony conviction within the ten years before the prospective employment date disqualifies an applicant from working for the PLCB; other criminal convictions are reviewed individually.
Requirements
- One year as a Liquor Store Clerk 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or two years as a Liquor Store Clerk 1 or Intermittent Liquor Store Clerk (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or one year of lead retail sales work.
- Must meet the Pennsylvania residency requirement.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB; other criminal convictions are reviewed case by case.
Responsibilities
- Guide daily store operations and ensure the store opens and closes on time.
- Assign work, coach staff, and support employee development.
- Assist customers, address concerns, and promote a friendly environment.
- Order products, track inventory needs, and prepare for sales or events.
- Ensure displays, signage, and promotions follow agency guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for customers and staff.
