About The Position

BJ's Wholesale Club is seeking a Part-Time Liquor Store Attendant to join their team. This role is responsible for processing member purchases, including liquor, lottery, and tobacco sales, in a courteous and friendly manner. The attendant will scan merchandise, accept payments, adhere to state age requirements, follow asset protection guidelines, stock product displays, and maintain the cleanliness of the liquor store. Team members at BJ's are expected to carry out job functions with honesty and integrity, lead with the member in mind, ensure a safe and positive environment, embrace inclusion and diversity, work collaboratively, and move with speed and agility. The role also involves delivering service excellence, resolving member concerns, and maintaining GOLD Member Standards (Greet, Anticipate, Appreciate) and GOLD Club Standards (Fast, Friendly, Full, Fresh, Clean). Team members are expected to know their business by understanding performance reporting and the impact of consistent execution. This position requires regular, predictable, full attendance as an essential function of the job.

Requirements

  • Basic math skills preferred.
  • Prior cashier experience preferred.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Successful completion of all required training and/or certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Process member purchases including liquor, lottery and tobacco sales in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Scan merchandise and accept various forms of payments.
  • Adhere to state age requirements for liquor, lottery, and tobacco sales.
  • Follow asset protection guidelines.
  • Merchandise and stock product displays and locations.
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness of the liquor store.
  • Carry out job functions and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Understand how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for your department.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to members.
  • Process member purchases including liquor, lottery and tobacco sales in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and product inquiries from members.
  • Scan merchandise through a point-of-sale system to ensure accurate inventory counts and accurate purchase totals for members.
  • Collect payments via cash, check, or other charge payments from members.
  • Issue receipts and change due to members.
  • Run lottery machine and sell scratch-off tickets.
  • Process and collect payment for lottery ticket sales.
  • Stay up-to-date on all merchandise promotions, advertisements, and product information.
  • Discount purchases by scanning and redeeming coupons.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the register area and liquor store.
  • Assist in general club housekeeping when necessary.
  • Recover / pull forward merchandise throughout the day.
  • Stock shelves from pallets or lay down articles as needed.
  • Conduct daily inventory counts according to asset protection guidelines and place asset protection devices on high shrink merchandise as needed.
  • Maintain all club policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
