About The Position

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a Part-Time Liquor Shop Attendant to join their World-Class Team. This role is responsible for processing member purchases, including liquor, lottery, and tobacco sales, in a courteous and friendly manner. The attendant will scan merchandise, accept various forms of payment, adhere to state age requirements, follow asset protection guidelines, merchandise and stock product displays, and maintain the overall cleanliness of the liquor store. Team members are expected to carry out job functions, support club policies, act with honesty and integrity, ensure a safe and positive environment, embrace inclusion and diversity, move with speed and agility, innovate and adapt, and maintain a friendly and positive attitude. Members are to receive excellent service, and concerns should be resolved and deescalated. The role requires a daily commitment to GOLD Member Standards: Greet, Anticipate, Appreciate (GAA), and delivering Fast, Friendly, Full, Fresh, Clean service. Club Standards include working as a team to deliver a Grand Opening look daily, ensuring all items are stocked and promotional plans are executed, maintaining visible and accurate signage, and keeping the store clean and organized. Team members should understand how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for their department and see the connection between consistent execution and its positive impact on the business.

Requirements

• Basic math skills preferred.
• Prior cashier experience preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Successful completion of all required training and/or certifications.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with AI tools, including ChatGPT.

Responsibilities

• Provides a high level of customer service to members.
• Processes member purchases including liquor, lottery and tobacco sales in a timely and efficient manner.
• Answers incoming phone calls and product inquiries from members.
• Scans merchandise through a point-of-sale system to ensure accurate inventory counts and accurate purchase totals for members.
• Collects payments via cash, check, or other charge payments from members.
• Issues receipts and change due to members.
• Runs lottery machine and sells scratch-off tickets.
• Processes and collects payment for lottery ticket sales.
• Adheres to state liquor, lottery and tobacco laws and age requirements.
• Stays up-to-date on all merchandise promotions, advertisements, and product information.
• Discounts purchases by scanning and redeeming coupons.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the register area and liquor store.
• Assists in general club housekeeping when necessary.
• Recovers / pulls forward merchandise throughout the day.
• Stocks shelves from pallets or lay down articles as needed.
• Conducts daily inventory counts according to asset protection guidelines and places asset protection devices on high shrink merchandise as needed.
• Maintains all club policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job.
