About The Position

Saskatoon Co-op is seeking a part-time Liquor Clerk for its 8th Street Liquor store. This role involves serving members with products and services, demonstrating alignment with Saskatoon Co-op's brand and values, and maintaining a positive, professional approach. The Liquor Clerk will be responsible for various tasks within the liquor store, including customer service, sales, stocking, receiving, order preparation, and maintaining store cleanliness and orderliness. The position requires adherence to all company policies and procedures, particularly those related to age-restricted items and loss prevention. The ideal candidate will be service-oriented, motivated, and willing to enhance their product knowledge.

Requirements

Must be at least 19 years of age
Have or willing to obtain Serve It Right Saskatchewan
Must be strongly service-oriented and motivated, and capable of serving and assisting customers in a courteous and efficient manner
Must be prepared to increase product knowledge and improve selling techniques through special courses, product clinics and training sessions
Must have the demonstrated ability to fulfill physical job requirements including: lifting and carrying of 50-75 lbs. of force occasionally, 10-20 lbs. of force constantly, and the ability to climb ladders
Must be able to work: mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends

Nice To Haves

Experience in the liquor industry will be considered an asset
Enhanced knowledge of wine, spirits and beer (Writing a product knowledge test may be required to determine eligibility)

Maintain a positive, professional approach and attitude
Wear the accepted Co-op uniform and Personal Protective Equipment as required
Be dependable for all scheduled shifts
Meet the expectations of internal and external customers
Perform all tasks required in a liquor store including but not limited to: store opening and closing, cashier, stocking, receiving, preparing commercial and online orders, snow removal, cleaning and sanitizing
Understand products and services offered to promote the sale of goods and services to meet customer needs
Order, receive and display merchandise as directed and per Saskatoon Co-op policies and procedures
Efficiently operate the point-of-sale system and conduct financial transactions in adherence with Saskatoon Co-op policies
Proficiently and safely operate the manual and power mobile equipment in the store
Adhere to loss prevention policies and strategies
Review and act on various P.O.S. reports as they pertain to the section and as directed by the manager
Understand and adhere to Saskatoon Co-op policies and procedures, in particular adhering to the Selling Age Restricted Items policy
Ensure that a neat, clean, and orderly location is maintained at all times
Perform all duties as assigned
